SummitX 2024: iQmetrix Hackathon Offers AI-Powered Innovations and Solutions for Telecom Retailers

iQmetrix is known for its constant innovation and ideation, and nowhere was this more on display than at SummitX 2024.

In addition to new product announcements and the Product Showcase at SummitX, iQmetrix demonstrated its internal development teams’ innovation by bringing its annual Hackathon to the event’s main stage.

The iQmetrix Hackathon is a yearly internal competition between teams of iQers, designed to generate new product and process ideas and solutions.

The two-pronged theme was generative AI and Interconnected Commerce, which meant all solutions had to include some form of AI tool or solution integration. There were also three project categories that all teams had to develop within:

  • New product innovations
  • Existing product enhancements
  • Productivity applications (for internal and client-facing processes)

Waleed Ayoub, Chief Technology Officer at iQmetrix, said at the presentation, We tried to create the conditions where people can brainstorm ideas and can come up with novel solutions that we can work on, within the scope of the classes of projects we want.”

Some 11 teams from iQmetrix and across Chrysalis, the company ecosystem to which iQmetrix belongs, competed in September over a four-day intensive period.

At the closing session of SummitX on October 29, five of those ideas that were most relevant to telecom retail were pitched to attendees. The audience then had the opportunity to vote live on a winning solution that most resonated with them and their needs.

1. FraudGuard

FraudGuard is an AI-powered solution for wireless retail that prevents trade-in fraud and suspicious customer behavior. It tackles both trade-in fraud and suspicious consumer behavior by using camera technology and artificial intelligence to assess risks. This tool is designed to complement existing iQmetrix fraud solutions. Category: product enhancement.

2. InfiniteOdyssey

Infinite Odyssey is a data-driven platform provides real-time AI analysis of employee performance and personalized gamification to enhance skills and predict revenue impact. This tool is designed to enhance employee engagement and productivity and increase the bottom line. Category: new product innovation.

3. SalesiQ

SalesiQ is an AI-driven virtual store assistant that instantly processes customer profile details and sales history to help wireless store sales reps personalize their service with insightful personal information at their fingertips. This customer engagement tool provides sales teams with real-time insights and AI-driven recommendations to enhance interactions and create countless upselling opportunities. Category: new product innovation.

4. RQ User Reports

RQ User Reports use artificial intelligence to improve support processes and ticket response times for users of iQmetrix’s point-of-sale and retail management system, RQ. This proposed tool automatically captures detailed user and system data in RQ, enabling faster support ticket resolution, and capturing data for future analysis. Category: product enhancement.

5. RuleSmith

RuleSmith automatically generates tailored matching rules in ReconcilePro — iQmetrix’s upcoming advanced reconciliation tool — to maximize match rates and streamline compensation reconciliation. It uses AI to map data, which results in faster processes and fewer errors. Category: product enhancement.

Once all the pitches had been made at the Hackathon Pitch Finals session, the audience voted using the live poll in the SummitX app, and the results were shared on screen.

By a comfortable margin, the winning idea was SalesiQ. This solution, along with some of the other ideas arising from the Hackathon, will now be explored and tested further by iQmetrix product and technology teams. Watch this space for more information if and when these ideas are developed into real products.
